Powerful talks from visionaries like Sir Tony Kouzarides, Danette Daniels, and more...

A series of dynamic, TED-style talks by world-class scientists who have followed diverse career paths. Speakers will share candid stories, unexpected pivots, and how they built successful, fulfilling lives in science. Participants will leave with a broadened perspective on career possibilities and a deeper understanding of the many paths a scientific career can take.

Event 3 - Research Spotlight: Short Oral Presentations by Early-Career Scientists

Rapid-fire presentations from early-career researchers on their current work

Selected PhD students and postdocs will give short oral presentations of their current research in a fast-paced, engaging format (8 minute talk + 2-minute Q&A). It’s a chance to share ideas and build visibility among peers and professionals.

The session highlights emerging talent, improves presentation skills, and fosters community among early-career researchers.

With mentors from academia, industry, and beyond

Meet one-on-one with professionals across sectors in quick, high-energy rounds. Make real connections that can shape your next step.

Event 5 - Choose Your Career Adventure: Collaborative Challenge. Solve Real-World Life Science Problems

With coaching from world experts across academia, industry (e.g. Michael Keogh, Epycipher), publishing (e.g. Jie Wang, Nature)

Participants will work in small teams to tackle real-world biotech or science communication challenges, guided by experienced mentors. At the end, each group will present their solution.

The session encourages teamwork, creative thinking, and practical problem-solving, essential tools for thriving beyond the lab.
